Job Description

  • Shall assist the project Team and field supervisory personnel as required to keep the project on schedule and with budget.

    • Shall have an excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the desire and ambition to produce best results in the projects assigned. Moreover, able to maintain and enhance work relationship and deliver high quality in the task assigned.

    • To coordinate and follow up project related matters, deliberate critical issues for the timely resolution with in client department.

    • Understand the scope of work of the project assigned and ensure that contractor comply with DEWA requirement and specification.

    • Conduct meeting with CLIENT departments and contractors to ensure the project is progressing as scheduled. Prepare the minutes of meeting and follow up actions.

    • Overall control of the accomplishments of the project milestone and reporting.

    • Shall visit project site to check and monitor the progress (project program) of the work and write reports after the visiting.

Skills

  • Handles project activities (scope of work) and administration matter of the project.

2.Protection Engineer

Job Description

Shall be able to supervise power system protection testing and commissioning of transmission protection systems up to 400kV. Shall have knowledge of protection scheme functionality on all types of transmission protection relays including bus bars, feeders, transformers and reactors.
Shall be able to prepare detailed testing procedures/checklist for each protection relays/ scheme in the transmission network.

Skills

Should poses computer literacy and good communication and report writing skills

 

3.TESTING ENGINEER 1

Job Description

Site supervision of commissioning & erection activities of transmission lines (Cable / OHL) by completion of site tests in coordination with contractors and other DEWA departments. Provide technical support in transmission related issues and handing over of transmission lines to concerned DEWA departments as per SLAs.

Responsibilities

FAT: Witness various stages of factory inspections and provide report.

Site Tests & Inspections: Witness Site Tests as per procedure and approve site test reports. Issue site note for non-conformities noticed and follow up for clearance. Issue safe receipt reports at site. Prepare, maintain and clear snag list.

Commissioning: Issue Permit To Work, verify method statement. Issue outage checklist, outage request as applicable. Maintain / review marked up drawings. Support in issuing commissioning clearance on completion of all pre-requisites.

Post – Energization: Verification of documents (O&M manual, as-built drawing) and support in handing over of energized lines as per SLAs.

Quality & Standards: Quality installation of line equipment and accessories at site. Ensure control of quality documents for lines commissioning activities. Ensure implementation of departmental quality procedures and adherence to SLA requirements. Support implementation of PMI standards in managing projects/program as per TCD scope of work.

Special Projects: Review specifications for transmission line equipment. Providing support to Project/Engineering departments during tender evaluation and engineering for special projects.

Productivity Monitoring: Monitor staff’s productivity & lost time at site & developing a system to improve the productivity & to reduce the lost time for site activities.

4.Senior Engineer – Transmission Projects (132kv / 400kv)

Job Description

Drive the project team and provide continuous support throughout the project lifecycle inline with the project’s master plan and take corrective actions to ensure successful completion of the assigned Transmission project.

Responsibilities

Project Objectives: Keep the project on schedule by assisting the project team and taking corrective actions as and when required. Control of the accomplishments of the project milestones and report the same.

Project Scope of Work: Implement the scope of work for the projects assigned and ensure that the contractor/consultant comply with DEWA approved project documents.

External and Internal Coordination: Coordinate and follow up on project related matters and identification of risks. Facilitate the resolution of issues with internal and external relevant parties.

Progress Meetings: Participate in meetings to discuss project progress both internally and externally and take appropriate decisions to avoid any adverse impact on the project performance.

Site Visits: Attend periodical project site visits to ensure the progress (project program) of the work and report the same to Senior Management.

Administration Tasks: Carry out administrative tasks such as invoice verification, preparation of engineer’s job orders and other related correspondence.

Outages Plan: Plan and coordinate with DEWA internal departments for project related power/water outages.

Risk and Mitigation Plan: Identify project risk matrix and prepare a mitigation plan to ensure smooth execution of the projects.

5.Senior Engineer – Civil Site

Job Description

Ensure the Site Supervision of Transmission Projects related to Civil activities are carried out from initiation up to closing stage, inline with TP Strategic Plan and ensure proper control and guidance to subordinate engineers.

Responsibilities

Site Supervision: Supervise the Civil works of assigned sites in accordance to specification, approved drawings & materials and scope of works.

Reports: Prepare daily site reports to ensure close monitoring of contractor’s civil progress activities.

Progress Meetings: Attend all progress meetings with contractors and consultants

Internal / External Coordination: Coordinate with DEWA internal departments to ensure their requirements and queries are addressed and closed. Coordinate with contractor/consultant to ensure proper completion of project work before handing over to user department.

Site Notes: Issue site notes and follow-up to ensure all site notes are closed according to DEWA’s requirements.

Technical Specification: Provide feedback on existing technical specification to be used for future Turnkey projects in terms of lessons learnt from projects handled, in order to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstanding by contractors in future contracts.

Project Feedback : Provide feedback on confirmity of approved materials, vendors, consultant and contractor performance in terms of lessons learnt from projects handled.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Ensure QA/QC is in full compliance with specification and requirements of the projects to minimise end user’s comments and number of non-compliances found during commissioning stage and hence ensure customer satisfaction and quality of executed work.

6.Project Manager (132kv / 400kv)

Job Description

The job holder will manage the lifecycle of transmission projects and drive the project’s team to successfully complete the projects as per the plan and schedule by ensuring project compliance with contract scope, DEWA specifications & International standards/best practices to ultimately meet the overall divisional and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

Risk and Mitigation Plan: Prepare project risk mitigation plan to ensure smooth execution of the projects.

Project Lifecycle: Manage the execution of project lifecycle by driving/supporting the project team and taking corrective actions as required and keeping an overall control of the accomplishments of the project milestones and reporting the same.

Project Performance: Monitor and control projects contract activities and report the job status periodically to the direct manager on critical issues with solutions required for maintaining project progress according to project schedule in compliance with project related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Project issues: Resolve project related issues in coordination with external and internal relevant parties.

External and Internal Meetings: Lead and participate meetings to discuss project progress both internally and externally and take appropriate decisions to avoid any adverse impact on the project performance.

Site Visits: Attend periodical project site visits to ensure the progress (project program) of the work.

Projects Invoices and Payments: Control, review and approve issued invoices and ensure releasing of payments to contractors/consultants payment invoices/certificates as per the project’s progress and contractual payment terms. Ensure that contract procedures are followed during implementation of projects. Finalize the project reconciliation and variation orders in line with provisions of contract.

Outages Plan: Coordinate with the concerned DEWA departments, contractor, client and consultant to plan for the effective utilization of outages.

Prequalification Visits: Participate in prequalification visits of the supplier/contractors whenever required to enhance project competitiveness and to increase the no. of suppliers & contractors.

Quality: Ensure and adhere to the IMS system and Social Accountability Policies requirements.

Corporate Excellence: Responsible for continuously innovating and fulfilling the requirements of driving the Corporate Excellence. Facilitating, transferring and sharing knowledge with colleagues and subordinates.

Skills

People Management: Provide leadership, vision, direction, support, guidance and coaching to the direct subordinates in their strategic, functional and operational roles.

Installation & Commissioning: Quality installation of substation equipment and accessories as per the procedures at site. Review Permit To Work request, method statement, outage checklist, outage request etc. as applicable. Maintain / review marked up drawings. Provide support in issuing commissioning clearance on completion of all pre-requisites.

Site Tests & Inspections: Witness Site Tests as per procedure and approve site test reports. Issue site note for non-conformities noticed and follow up for clearance. Issue safe receipt reports at site. Witness various stages of factory inspections and provide report. Support in issuing dispatch clearance.

Snag List: Prepare, maintain and clear snag list.

Energization & Post – Energization: Monitor energization as per switching sequence and take necessary action as required. In case of any abnormalities, take required action and report the same. Verification of documents (O&M manual, as-built drawing) and handing over of energized substations as per SLAs.

Quality: Ensure implementation of departmental quality procedures and adherence to SLA requirements.

Special Projects: Support in reviewing of specifications for transmission substation equipment and scope of work. Providing support to Project/Engineering departments during tender evaluation and engineering for special projects.
